Senior Backend Software Engineer at ZeroNorth

To take this proven solution, dive deep into its current architecture, and become a driving force in its complete rewrite to align with our technology portfolio and meet our high engineering standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive the technical rebirth of a market-leading application through a ground-up rewrite.
• Be a primary force in analysing the existing solution and contributing to the architecture of its next-generation replacement.
• Rebuild core functionality of a successful web application to meet modern engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product owners to design and implement new features that will unlock significant market expansion.
• Take full ownership of the components you build, from launch through their ongoing maintenance, performance, and continued growth.
• Actively pioneer the use of generative AI to assist in code translation, logic mapping, and accelerating the refactoring process.

Your profile:

• Has a track record of at least 5 years of software engineering experience, with a proven ability to dive deep into complex, existing codebases and leave them better than you found them.
• Is proficient and comfortable with the .NET CORE framework, a core part of our existing technology stack.
• Possesses solid experience with relational databases, including MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL, as well as ORMs, with a focus on Entity Framework Core.
• Is adept at working with modern cloud infrastructure and pipelines, specifically YAML, Terraform, GitHub Actions, AWS, or Azure.
• Exhibits a strong commitment to quality and craftsmanship, believing in the importance of writing and maintaining comprehensive automated tests (unit, component, integration, etc.) to ensure the robustness of the software.
• Is genuinely excited by the prospect of improving what's already there, understanding that true innovation often stems from meticulous refactoring and brilliant reconstruction, not just green-field development.
• Is pragmatic and curious about using new tools, and is excited by the prospect of leveraging generative AI to solve real-world engineering problems.
