What does it mean to be a Data Engineer at ZeroNorth?

As a Data Engineer, you will be part of the Customer Data Team embedded in an extremely skilled and international Operations Engineering department which is responsible for all the customer data integrations and responsible for exposing the data to internal business areas as well as external customers.

In this role you will:

• Help with creating data flows using DBT and Snowflake.

• Responsible for end to end data journey of data in datalake (Integration, Storage).
• Create Validation Models for the Data to provide Quality Data to end users (ML models & services).
• Work on Creating new and maintaining existing Customer Data Integrations.
• Creating Internal Tools to help Operations Team improve productivity.
• Help other engineers in the team to follow engineering best practices.
  
  Who are you?

• 4+ years of experience, working with big data solutions such as Snowflake, DBT, Apache Kafka,Apache NiFi, Airflow – ideally with experience in AWS cloud solutions S3, batch/EC2, EMR.
• Experience with service oriented architecture, writing REST API’s, unit testing and architectural design.
• Experience working with collaborative software engineering practices (Git, Agile, DevOps).
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python.
• Relevant educational background in mathematics, engineering, computer science.
• A growth mindset to continuously learn new methods and technologies and eagerness to share knowledge and ideas.
• We expect you to be self-motivated, accountable, agile and able to balance building perfection vs. building good-enough.
• Have excellent communication and teamwork skills and pay great attention to detail.
• We expect you to be able to communicate in both oral and written English.
