What does it mean to be a Senior Vessel Optimisation Specialist at ZeroNorth?

 We are currently looking for a Senior Marine Engineer / Naval Architect with 3+ year of experience in the vessel performance and hull performance optimisation domains and with experience of leading and building teams in high growth environments, to strengthen our vessel optimisation team with strong acumen and team-presence.

Take a leading role in advising customers and colleagues on vessel hydrodynamics, fuel models, vessel performance and optimization.

As Senior Vessel Optimisation Specialist in the Customer Experience & Professional Services team, you will contribute to delivering world-class technical expertise as an individual contributor for vessel performance projects and tasks.

Your areas of responsibility:

• Provide tech support to customers of the domain software in regard to training, troubleshooting and engagement building.
• Collaborate with business leaders to deliver insights derived from data, highlight emerging trends/customer needs, and work through implications for business strategy·
• Develop and improve the team’s internal processes and daily deliverables.
• Track and ensure timely customer deliverables as per the SLAs of the team.
• Liaise with the product development team in regard to product ideas, testing and bug fixing.
• Idea generation, participation and effective handling of dynamic ad-hoc projects.
• Assist on performance monitoring and optimization tasks by providing analytical, fact-based decision support.
• Create and maintain theoretical performance models/hydrodynamic models to analyse the impact of weather conditions, hull fouling and other external factors on the propulsion efficiency of the vessels as well as the total energy management of all onboard systems.

Who are you?

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture; last sailed as 2nd or 3rd Engineer with 3+ years of experience in onboard merchant vessels with the domain of vessel performance and hull performance optimization.
• Have lead/built a team in fast paced organization.
• Subject matter expert level knowledge in technical performance of vessels, data-collection from vessels and fuel models. Knowledge of EEXI, EEOI & CII will be an added advantage.
• Great problem solving skills, solution oriented mindset and self starter attitude is a demand of the job profile.
• Fluency of communication in English.
