What does it mean to be a Machine Learning Engineer at ZeroNorth?

As a Machine Learning Engineer in ZeroNorth you will have the key role to bring software engineering structure and practices within our data science heavy machine learning product teams. You anchor the responsibility of maintaining and developing the architecture and product interfaces of an ML model. You develop REST APIs, architecture drawings and bring the structured mindset in collaboration with Data Scientists and Data Engineers with the result being the best product we can present to our customers.

ZeroNorth grows cross-functional teams so the responsibilities for developing and deploying a product is shared within the team in a highly collaborative environment.

In order to achieve these and related tasks, you will perform the following:

• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers and build effective data pipelines.

• Build the infrastructure required to deploy a machine learning model in production.

• Manage, maintain, scale, and improve machine learning models already running in production environments.

• Work with common ML algorithms and relevant software libraries.

• Optimize and tweak ML models according to how they behave in production.

• Communicate with relevant stakeholders and key users to understand business requirements, and also clearly explain the capabilities of the ML model.

• Deploy models to production, initially as a prototype, and then as an API that can serve predictions for end users.

• Provide technical support to data and product teams, helping relevant parties use and understand machine learning systems and datasets.

Your profile

As a person you come from either a data science or a software engineering background. You are passionate about the latest developments in Python, ML libraries, data representation, validation and other tooling that helps make our work easier and less prone to errors. You want to have a real impact on the world and aim for high quality lasting results.

It would be an advantage if you have experience with the following technologies:

• Python

• PyTorch + Scikit-learn

• FastAPI

• Streamlit

• GitHub (Actions, CI/CD)

• AWS (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, etc.)

It’s important that you are fluent in both oral and written English, as this is the language we use.
